The Gift of Positive Self Care

Caring for yourself is the greatest gift you can give.

What is self-care? It is caring for yourself as you would care for others. Without positive self care we become consumed with negative thought, resentment and anger.  We must care for ourselves emotionally, physically and spiritually.

What have you done today to nurture yourself and your spirit? What do you need from yourself today; kind thoughts, rest, quiet.  Stop and take a deep breath. Listen to the voice within. Give yourself that pat on the back or those kind words that you have been yearning for. Don’t wait for someone else to give them to you.

Habits of thinking are one of the most subtle in character and the most difficult to break.  Physical habits are much slower and palpable then those on the mental plane.  Habits of thought flow rapidly and in an unbroken stream, which often brings discouragement and self-condemnation. Self-condemnation brings still more trouble, thus a vicious cycle is created.  Therefore do not dwell in the slowness of your harmonious thought, but dwell in the presence of God all the more.
